In Tallahassee, local activists and student leaders sprung into action as soon as George Zimmerman's not guilty verdict was read.

Hundreds marched to the Florida Capitol and held a rally to protest the trial's outcome and rally for change.

People from all walks of life walked together in support of Trayvon Martin.

"If that would've been me in the hoodied, I wouldn't have gotten shot. it was profiling. That's the bottom line. It was a young black kid in a hoodie and he got shot," said a participant of the rally.

After George Zimmerman was found not guilty Saturday night about 120 college students, community members and leaders met at the Leon County Civic Center at midnight.

The group marched to the Florida Capitol.

As soon as Tallahassee Police heard about the Rally, the department also sprang into action to protect those marching towards The Capitol.

Almost 20 law enforcement officers blocked off portions of Monroe and Madison streets to allow those rallying a safe way to protest.
Within an hour of the verdict police were at the Civic Center ready to escort the group to the historic Capital.
